Group Tour

You are invited to tour the Best of the West! dickinson_cvb_9363_lr.jpg

Dickinson is the regional hub and full service community for Southwest North Dakota.

We can create a tailored tour for your group with specific interests and number of days available. Listed below is a sample of what Dickinson has to offer group interests.

Take time back into the prehistoric era by visting the Dickinson Museum Center. The spectacular rock and mineral collection along with the 11 full-scale dinosaurs will amaze you. A wide variety of fossils and minerals are also on display from all over the world in one of the finest displays seen anywhere. Visitors will want to view the smallest fossil in the museum and a selection of brachiopods, gastropods, cephalopods, and pelecypods.

Located within the building at the Dickinson Museum Center, history again is repeated, but several million years later with the tales of early settlers. Dickinson Museum Center showcases rotating exhibits each year dedicated to art and culture of southwestern North Dakota. The Prairie Machinery Building tells the story of early farming practices and the Prairie Outpost Park, just up the hill revisits the homesteads and early village life with historic area buildings.

The Ukrainian Cultural Institute features cultural exhibits of folk art, religous displays and houses a reserch library. The beautiful hand crafted "Psyanky" Easter Eggs are showcased, each one individually created with themes and stories. Embroidered cloths adorn the walls next to the heritage paintings of the early settlers. Each July, the Ukrainian Festival is held, showcasing the history and the "Stepovi Dity" Ukrainian dancers in their colorful customes.
