Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Seminar Promotes the Incorporation of Recycling into Pavement Programs
Post Date: Jun 15 2017

ARRAlg005.jpgOn June 27 & 28, 2017, participants from local city, county, and state transportation agencies will participate with pavement contractors, suppliers, and engineers in a seminar designed to promote the use of recycling and the right solution at the right time for the preservation or rehabilitation of area roadways.
The Asphalt Recycling & Reclaiming Association (ARRA) will present the 2017 In-Place Recycling & Reclaiming Seminar in Dickinson, ND, hosted by both the City of Dickinson and Stark County.  The seminar is also supported by the North Dakota Local Technical Assistance Program, the North Dakota Association of County Engineers, the South Dakota Local Technical Assistance Program, and the South Dakota Association of County Highway Superintendents.
The seminar addresses the needs of professionals at all levels from interstate highways to commercial and residential developments—design engineers, highway engineers, consulting engineers, other public works officials, contractors, and material suppliers—who want to incorporate responsible recycling into their pavement program. The seminar will provide a platform for national pavement professionals to present the state-of-the-art technologies that went on to be the building blocks of the ARRA Basic Asphalt Recycling Manual (BARM).
The seminar begins with a full day of educational presentations at the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge in Dickinson on topics including pavement preservation, cold planing, milling, hot in-place recycling, cold in-place recycling, full depth reclamation, soil stabilization, and more.
On the second day, seminar participants will go out into the field in Dickinson to observe a live demonstration of in-place recycling projects. The demonstration provides firsthand understanding of the flexibility, sustainability, and economy of in-place recycling.
The seminar program is made possible through the generous support of ARRA and sponsoring member companies including Rock Solid Stabilization & Reclamation, Inc., Roadtec, Wirtgen Group, Braun Intertec, Midstate Reclamation & Trucking, Caterpillar, Texas Road Recyclers, and KLJ Engineering.
Incorporated in September 1976, ARRA’s primary function has been to promote the recycling of existing roadway materials through various construction methodologies, to preserve limited natural resources and reduce costs. This ongoing effort continues through education, strategic alliances and partnering at both the industry and agency level.
