Holidays Downtown

Downtown Dickinson comes alive each holiday season with events for the whole family.
Whether you enjoy the costumes at Halloween or the nostalgia at Christmas, you won’t want to miss what is on the schedule for this season.
Trick or Trunk was held on October 31st as the downtown businesses got in the spirit of Halloween by sharing their holiday treats and goodies from the trunks of their sponsored vehicles. This event is always a fun and safe way to enjoy the Halloween festivities with family and friends. 
Ladies Night Out
will be held in conjunction with the Lighting of the Windows this year. Ladies are encouraged to come out for an evening on the town on November 11th from 5 – 7pm. Shop for deals and enjoy the window lighting ceremony at 6:00pm as participating businesses kick off the start of the Christmas season.
Plaid Friday will be held on November 25th in downtown Dickinson. Wear plaid and receive a discount all day long!
Saturday, November 26th is Small Business Saturday in Dickinson. Come downtown and help us celebrate small, local business.
The Christmas Stroll
will be held on December 3rd. Take a step back in time and stroll the streets of downtown Dickinson or see them from a hay wagon as you enjoy a hayride. There will be food, photo booths and much more!


CVB Update


The Dickinson Convention & Visitors Bureau enjoyed a busy summer with many tourists stopping through to see the local sights and to visit the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. With high numbers of tourists, we anticipated high numbers of hunters and have recently distributed over 600 hunting packets to local hotels. The packets include hunting guides and license information as well as details on lodging and dining opportunities in Dickinson and much more. These packets are available by contacting the Dickinson CVB.

The staff at the Dickinson CVB attended the 2016 ND Tourism Summit Day at the Bismarck Capitol October 4. This event, hosted by North Dakota Tourism, featured guest speakers who presented on topics such as the state tourism budget, local marketing strategies, and coop partnering opportunities. 

20161027_93659.jpgExecutive Director, Terri Thiel, spoke at the annual KickstArt Conference at Dickinson State University on November 1st on the subject of economic benefits for the community and tourism through the arts. This event was “geared toward a wide audience with a goal of increasing knowledge and awareness about the importance and validity of fine and performing arts. Participants had the unique opportunity to see how involvement in the arts translates to real career opportunities through the shared experiences of entrepreneurs, community leaders, and political figures. In addition, high school students gained insight into a number of industries, as well as the opportunity to consider potential university major/minor options...”

What's New In Dickinson?


The Crossing opened in Dickinson in September and offers fine dining with a rustic flare. Local business owner and entrepreneur, Seth Murphy, had a vision for bringing a new restaurant to Dickinson that would offer new options and new tastes for the growing public. The restaurant is located at 1770 19th St W in Dickinson.
